The glove compartment of a vehicle is NOT an authorized compartment for storing pistols. Firearms will be unloaded and the ammunition physically separated from the firearms. (2) When transported in a vehicle, weapons will be in plain view in the passenger area of the vehicle or secured (locked) in the trunk or other rear compartment of the vehicle, not readily accessible from the passenger area ( i.e., locked tool box secured to bed of a truck). The Provost Marshal may authorize the carrying of a privately-owned, sheathed, lock blade knife on military and DOD police officers' pistol belts. Commanders may authorize the carrying of a privately-owned knife with a blade over 3 inches to field duty, provided it is carried IAW Victory Standard and exposed in a sheath/scabbard. Knives will be carried in a sheath or scabbard worn in a clearly visible manner. Firearms will be unloaded when carried ( i.e., projectiles physically separated from the firearms, not just removed from the chamber), except when actually engaged in hunting or shooting. (1) When carried, weapons will be carried in an open manner (not concealed).

Many of the people who have been injured throughout the years because of repetitive vertical bow use, or just injuries in general will be able to go out and hunt again. I am almost certain that there will be a surge in crossbow sales because of this recent victory. They have opened the door for many potential hunters to enter the world of hunting that we all love. As with many other states, you are required to fill out a harvest tag for your kills.Ĭonnecticut legislation has done a great service to the crossbow hunting community. Once you are certified through DEEP, you are required to carry your permit around at all times. The only stipulation for crossbow hunters is that they must now take a test course through the DEEP (Department of Energy and Environmental Protection) so that they are certified to safely hunt.
Connecticut crossbow hunters can now head out and experience the same joys of hunting. It is the thrill of the hunt and the peacefulness of nature. There is never much pro-hunting legislation happens, so we have to rejoice every time something like this hits out news feed.Įveryone that is out hunting during these times does it for the same reasons. It is also a great sign for anyone that is pro-hunting. This can have many implications and one of the reasons that this change of heart came about was to help control these animals’ respective populations. The deer and turkey now have something else that they have to look out for during this season. Crossbowsare finally legal for the hunting season that just recently began this September. If you live in Connecticut and you have a passion for crossbows then you have something to rejoice about.
